VolkerGround Engineering returns to the Rochdale and Littleborough FRMS
VolkerGround Engineering recently returned to the Rochdale and Littleborough Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS) to carry out piling works, including the extraction of previously installed temporary piles and the installation of additional sheet piles as part of the wider flood protection scheme.
At Gale East, our team installed sheet piles to form a cut-off wall along Greenvale Brook. We also extracted the sheets that made up a temporary cofferdam using a 38t excavator and Movax. This cofferdam was designed in-house and successfully installed last November, enabling VolkerStevin to complete their works.
Meanwhile, at Gale West, we installed sheet piles along the River Roch embankment at Shotwood Fold, using our ZU100 pile press. In addition, our team installed 55 linear metres of cut-off sheets as part of the reservoir works at Gale West.
