VolkerGround Engineering returns to Rother Tidal Walls East
VolkerGround Engineering has recently returned to Rother Tidal Walls East to deliver piling works using a Spider Excavator.
Over a two-week programme, our team installed GU21N sheet piles at 6.5m lengths, using a Spider excavator and Movax side grip. The use of the Spider excavator eliminated the need for a stone platform, which would have been required if conventional piling methods had been used.
To reduce the programme length, we also mobilised our 23T excavator to handle and distribute piles to the Spider excavator.
The same plant was retained on site to install the steel capping beam, which reduced the carbon footprint of additional haulage and minimised disruption to site and local residents.
