Head of Information Management

An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Information Management to join Volker Rail based in Doncaster
Key Duties
- Lead Information Management (IM) function across the business, ensuring compliance with ISO19650, legislation, and client standards.
- Own and maintain IM processes and procedures, including continuous improvement and audit readiness.
- Oversee Common Data Environment (CDE) strategy and tools (e.g. Asite, Teams, SharePoint), driving digital innovation and best practice.
- Support bid and pre-contract activity, ensuring IM requirements are understood, planned, and competitively delivered.
- Ensure effective project mobilisation, including IM planning, resourcing, training, and system setup.
- Monitor IM delivery across projects, providing reporting, assurance, and proactive issue resolution.
- Drive project close-out and information handover, ensuring accurate records, compliance, and digital archiving.
- Manage IM risks and resource planning, supporting long-term capability and recruitment needs.
- Engage stakeholders at all levels, promoting IM best practice internally and externally.
- Lead, develop, and support a high-performing IM team, including line management and professional development.
About you
- Degree or equivalent in Information Management, ICT, Computer Science, or related discipline (Master’s desirable).
- Significant experience in senior Information Management roles across complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong expertise in BIM and ISO19650 standards, with a proven track record of implementation.
- Demonstrable experience leading teams and driving adoption of Common Data Environments (CDEs).
- Ideally experienced within the construction or rail sector.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proactive and solution-focused, with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise effectively, and work independently using initiative.
- Collaborative mindset with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable).
