VolkerWessels UK is seeking a Treasury Cashier to join our Treasury team in Hoddesdon on a 14 month fixed‑term contract, covering maternity leave.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the continued delivery of high‑quality cashiering and treasury management services across our businesses and the wider UK Group.
You will support the management of multiple bank accounts and cashbooks, process internal and external payments, and contribute to timely and accurate Treasury reporting. Working closely with senior team members, you’ll gain valuable exposure to a broad range of treasury activities and develop your understanding of the function.
About our role
- Daily monitoring of bank accounts and execution of inter‑company transfers to optimise liquidity
- Processing regular and urgent external payments, including Bacstel‑IP and online banking
- Executing FX trades and settlements
- Posting and allocating daily cashbook and sales ledger transactions
- Preparing Treasury positions, reports, and analysis, including reviewing bank reconciliations and unallocated cash
- Liaising with banks on account administration, signatory management, references, audit confirmations, and compliance
- Preparing bank account confirmation letters
- Banking cheques
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting ad‑hoc projects and providing cover for team members
- Identifying opportunities to improve and digitise existing processes
About you
- Experience in an accounting environment with cashbook/bookkeeping responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Attention to detail
- Experience within a shared service function (desirable)
- Previous experience of ERP/accounting software (4PS highly desirable)
- Previous experience in the construction sector (desirable)
