VolkerGround Engineering progress sheet piling works at Grove Lodge, Littleborough

Our works are progressing well at the Littleborough Flood Risk Management Scheme Grove Lodge site.

Last week, we mobilised our ZU100 silent piler to extract the dummy piles. Working closely with the project team, we identified programme savings by undertaking the works in parallel, allowing our Giken Supercrush to continue installing the permanent piles without interruption.

The use of dummy piles enabled us to position the reaction stand centrally within the platform, avoiding additional surcharge at the site boundary. The extracted piles will be reused later in the project, delivering both cost and carbon savings for our client.

Great to see both of our silent pilers working side by side!
