SBTi Net Zero target approved

We're happy to share that our science-based emissions reduction targets have been approved by SBTi

We're pleased to announce that our science-based emissions reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), marking a significant milestone in our sustainability journey. This includes our near and long-term near-term science-based emissions reduction targets, and verification of our Net Zero science-based target of 2050.

James McMorrow, VolkerWessels UK Sustainability Director, reflects - "Having our carbon targets validated by the SBTi confirms that our carbon reduction goals align with the science to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Our carbon reduction strategy emphasises the need for urgent action and outlines our action plans to reduce emissions. We will continue to prioritise the need for robust data to ensure transparency, promote education and awareness in our teams, and work with likeminded partners to facilitate collaboration and shared learning - all of which will help us achieve our ambitious targets."

We're proud to be part of a global network of businesses taking meaningful climate action.

Our targets can be found on the SBTi website.
