VolkerStevin are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team. This position is initially to cover maternity leave, though a high possibility of becoming a permanent position due to our growing order book already established contracts. the initial placement is for 18 months.
Key Accountabilites:
- Production of monthly management accounts and reports
- Identifying areas for improvement in process or controls and proposing solutions
- Ensure accurate reporting, presentations and insightful ad-hoc analysis to the business
- Involvement in monthly project reviews with the business
- Monitoring of overhead costs including ensuring the integrity of overhead budgets and forecasts.
- Supporting commercial teams and business leads with ad-hoc contract analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
- Ad hoc projects and analysis as required
- Overhead and tendering analysis, making recommendations to support the wider business and the impact of new business won.
- Review of monthly overhead fluctuations with key stakeholders.
- Cashflow and working capital management
- Set up and ongoing financial control oversight of any JV or special project arrangements
- Act as a key individual on driving projects to completion across the business.
- Client cost audit support
- External audit support in relation to contract results and associated balances
Developing effective working relationships throughout the Business Unit, at all levels and across all areas to support business objectives
Key Competencies required for this Career Level:
Technical:
- Excel to advanced level
- Highly numerate and analytical ability
- Understanding and application of accounting standards
Behavioural:
- Ability to exercise own initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Detail conscious – able to deliver accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and produce accurate time critical information
- Lead by example to junior members of the finance team demonstrating best practice and what good looks like.
About you
- Qualified Accountant (or part qualified with relevant experience)
- Experience of using reporting / consolidation tool to prepare report
