This is a great opportunity to lead a well-established depot at the heart of our Wokingham highways operations. The role plays a key part in keeping essential works moving smoothly across the region, balancing operational delivery, commercial performance and strong team leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Manage depot P&L, analyse performance and report monthly to the Area Manager.
- Maintain strong HSEQ standards across all operations.
- Oversee operational and commercial delivery for assigned works.
- Provide status updates across all frameworks and schemes.
- Lead delivery and operational teams to ensure efficient performance.
- Produce and submit AFPs on time and in full.
- Protect tendered margins through effective resourcing and maximising EO opportunities.
- Support the Area Manager in building and maintaining client relationships.
- Assist the Pre‑Contract Manager with ECI, proposals and bid meetings.
- Ensure all equipment used in works is fully compliant.
- Lead TM discussions in progress meetings.
- Deliver clear handovers to local delivery teams, including tender assumptions and rate build‑ups.
- Implement and manage operational and commercial change.
- Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate risks to the Area Manager, including mitigation plans.
- Maintain accurate records of TM schemes, equipment use and maintenance.
- Resolve operational challenges, including equipment issues, staffing gaps or changing traffic conditions.
About you
- Proven experience managing Traffic Management operations.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Effective leadership with experience managing teams.
- Solid track record in delivering TM schemes.
- Strong understanding of TM activities within a TMC environment.
- Motivated, proactive and delivery‑focused.
- Comprehensive knowledge of TM industry practices, clients and suppliers.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of SHEQ regulations and standards.
- Required/Desirable Training:
- NHSS 12
- SMSTS
- First Aid
- IHE Certificate in Temporary Traffic Management (desirable)
