We have the capability to deliver major surfacing and public realm infrastructure projects. Our specialist in-house traffic management division provides expert advice and support across the industry, whilst assisting with our own, in-house contracts.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager to join our Traffic Management team, based out of Hoddesdon office with regular travel to sites across the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver high‑quality, compliant traffic management services across all contracts, ensuring OTIF and RFT delivery standards are met.
- Drive operational efficiency, profitability, and revenue growth while minimising contractual, financial, and operational risk.
- Ensure adherence to business, industry, and health & safety standards, promoting continuous improvement and audit readiness.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting new business development.
- Lead and support the TM team in the successful commercial and operational delivery of projects, including financial reviews, cost management, and profit recovery.
- Act as Senior Manager Responsible (SMR) for allocated contracts, overseeing risk identification, issue resolution, and technical approvals.
- Support the Head of TM and Pre‑Construction Manager with client engagement, ECI requirements, CVRs, and strategic planning.
- Ensure timely invoicing, accurate SoR understanding, and effective communication of commercial requirements across delivery teams.
- Oversee health & safety compliance, including reviewing RAMS, managing incidents/accidents, and ensuring adherence to all relevant standards.
- Conduct internal project reviews and complete performance development reviews for Depot Managers.
About you
You will bring strong experience in the effective management and delivery of Traffic Management operations, with the ability to co‑ordinate works across both rural and urban environments. You’ll have a proven track record of planning, programming and delivering high‑quality TM schemes, supported by comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, materials, clients and suppliers. Your drive, determination and commitment to excellent service will enable you to make a real difference within our TM function.
You will also hold relevant Traffic Management certifications, including NHSS 12 A/B & D, SMSTS, First Aid Training and the IHE Certificate in Temporary Traffic Management. TSCO accreditation is desirable.
