Early Careers Manager

We are recruiting for an Early Careers Manager to join our early career team. Reporting into our to our Talent & Engagement Manager, you will oversee the recruitment and development of apprentices, industrial placement students and graduates to support the goal of maintaining a highly skilled workforce. You’ll also be key in establishing a fair and transparent early careers strategy that support the VolkerWessels UK Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) agenda that will attract, develop and retain the best emerging talent. In addition to this, you’ll be supporting our current cohort of 160 graduates and recruiting 60 grads for 2025 intake.
About our role
Recruitment
- Sourcing candidates for emerging talent programmes
- Regular review and management of recruitment processes and practices to reflect FIR objectives
- Onboarding of emerging talent candidates
- Working with our partnering universities and organisations
Managing Work Experience / Summer Placements / ITP / Graduate Programmes
- Developing training programmes in conjunction with Group-wide frameworks
- Maintenance and analysis of emerging talent data
- Utilising the programmes to build a pipeline for future recruitment plans
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with stakeholders and plan to meet business needs
- Work with line managers to support the development of emerging talent
- Engage with key team members including our Apprenticeship Lead, Early Careers Manager and our L&D BP to support with the delivery of the programmes and ensure emerging talent needs are met
About you
About you
You’ll have demonstrable experience working in a similar role supporting emerging/early years talent, coupled with strong stakeholder engagement skills with a flair to building and maintaining strong relationships.
You’ll also have good organisational with a flair to juggle multiple priorities whilst meeting deadlines.
You’ll also have interpersonal skills (an effective communicator), being able to manage and coordinate.
