The Alliance was recognised by RoSPA for its health and safety achievements in 2023, and its dedication to the health, safety and wellbeing of its workforce over five consecutive years.

The RoSPA awards are the longest running of their kind in the UK, and is internationally recognised for demonstrating high health and safety standards, with almost 2,000 organisations entering annually.

The awards are judged by a panel of experts who assess candidates health and safety strategy, approach, implementation and specific measures put in place to keep people safe.

Head of health, safety and wellbeing, Paul Whitehead, said: “To have won this award as a project and not as an individual business or organisation is a testament to the Alliance’s commitment to health, safety and wellbeing over the five years. Reinforcing that we have a strong foundation/culture of health and safety on the project and have provided credibility to the people-led approach via our ‘Safety in Every Choice’ behavioural safety programme.

“A big thank you for all who have helped keep Safety in Every Choice at the forefront of everything we do, to get everyone home safe everyday.”
