VolkerWessels UK Head office is a sustainable three storey office facility including basement, built to accommodate office based staff. The facility is fitted out with resturant, gym and meeting rooms with conference calling facilities.

Sustainability was key to the company agenda when plans for the new building were first drawn up.
Sustainable features include:
Ground Source Heat Pumps - Ground source heat pump system comprising of thirty six, 100 mt deep boreholes linked to WR2 heat pumps, delivering savings of 23 tonnes CO2 per annum.
Reduced Carbon Emissions - Reduced carbon emissions from previous office of 70%.
Water Saving Technologies - Rain water harvesting, electronic taps, pir control to urinal flushing and low flow / volume fittings. Daylight Saving Lighting Control
High frequency light fittings with automatic presence detection and daylight saving control to the perimeter of the building were installed throughout the office accommodation , thus reducing energy usage.
BREEAM Rating - A BREEAM Offices "Excellent" rating.
Ground Air Ducts - Office areas served by pine fresh air via buried 1 meter diameter ducts, delivering savings of 2.8 tonnes CO2 per annum.
Solar Hot Water Panels - Solar hot water panels providing hot water to the kitchen.
Brise Soliel & Photo Voltaic Panels - The front of the offices are shaded by fixed brise soliel with feature PV panels providing a renewable constant source of electricity.
Sustainably Designed Envelope - Designed to optimise the natural elements with the following: orientated to optimise natural day light, deep window reveals, vertical louvres, brise soleil.
