Fairness, Inclusion and Respect

At VolkerWessels UK we are proud of our inclusive culture. We are determined that our business continues to be one where everyone feels included, valued and free to be their authentic selves.  

Since the launch of our latest strategy in 2022, we have made some excellent progress in raising awareness. This includes the launch of our RESPECT programme with a simple message - to respect our colleagues, even if they are different to you, and to treat everyone in a way that they, and you, would like to be treated. 

The RESPECT programme is supported by a robust training programmespecifically for new starters, project leaders and senior leaders, as well as regular awareness campaigns for all employees designed to broaden the mind. 

We continue to see excellent support from our FIR Champions around the business. This includes delivering awareness events on our sites and offices, andfacilitatingour three Network Groups; LGBTQ+, Menopause, and Parents and Carers. 

We proactively take positive action in areas of known underrepresentation to attract and retain diverse talent, nurturing inclusive workplaces so everyone has equal opportunity to achieve their highest potential.This relates to all positions, including our early careers such as apprentices and graduateswhich is supported by our education engagement programmes, as well as those in more senior roles.

Engagement with external partners, membership platforms and accreditation services help ensure our policies, strategic direction and corporate knowledge is sound and continuing evolving. We are proud to work alongside the following partners to support the delivery of our fairness, inclusion and respect strategy.
