A unique opportunity has arisen for a H&S Advisor to join VolkerRail Major Projects working alongside the safety critical “Rail Operations” division. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious health and safety professional who is looking to develop their career further within the rail industry.
With the VolkerRail head office being based in Doncaster and Rail operations being based in Crewe, we are accepting candidates from either location. Applicants should be aware that there will be requirement for regular travel between the two locations as travel to undertake site visits.
You will be responsible for :
- The implementation of standards and procedures
- Carrying our safety critical assessments of possession management staff
- Assisting in maintaining local contract area emergency plans
- Accident and Incident reporting and investigation at a local level
- Promoting H&S best practice
- Undertaking audits and site inspections
- Assisting in the communication of safety standards
- Working with managerial/supervisory teams in the implementation of HSQE standards
- Alerting management to any non-conformance
- Conducting training/toolbox talks, inductions
- Investigating incidents
About you
- Required to hold a NEBOSH Certificate & ideally NEBOSH Diploma
- Experienced in a similar role in the rail/construction industry
- Internal auditor/ External/lead Auditor
- Hold a PTS
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
