Adrian Shah-Cundy, head of corporate responsibility at VolkerWessels UK said: “We are delighted to have so many of our sites recognised for the work they do in promoting the construction industry through working with communities, their workforce and offering sustainable environmental working practices.

“We are very proud of all our sites but Stoke Gifford being awarded one of only 99 Gold Awards is a magnificent achievement.

“We place great importance in ensuring our sites confirm to the highest possible standards and integrate themselves in the communities in which they work. “

During the 12 award ceremonies a total of 798 awards were presented with 99 achieving Gold Awards. 280 Silver and 387 Bronze were also won. In 2015, over 8,900 sites were eligible to win an award through their registration to the CCS.

The CCS provides construction sites, companies and suppliers the opportunity to voluntarily register with the scheme and agree to abide by the code of considerate practice, designed to encourage best practice throughout the industry.
