VolkerHighways has been awarded silver qualification in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) for the second year in a row.
FORS is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity in London, throughout the UK and beyond. Their overarching scheme encompasses all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, economical operations and vehicle emissions.
To obtain a silver qualification VolkerHighways had to show how they are actively committed to drastically improving safety, environmental impact and efficiency through a range of initiatives.
Phil Thomas, head of HSEQS for VolkerHighways said: “Achieving a second successive FORS silver certification is a great achievement and testament to the work our teams do in improving the safety and enviornomental impact of our sites. This award will help us further educate and protect our teams and improve the safety of all road users on the UK road network.”
FORS is a nationally recognised voluntary scheme and open to any company operating a fleet including vans, lorries, mini-buses and coaches. The process of accreditation and continuous improvements gives the peace of mind that the accredited organisation takes safety and compliance seriously.
