VolkerHighways has recently upgraded its Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) qualification from bronze to silver.
FORS is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity in London, throughout the UK and beyond. Their overarching scheme encompasses all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, economical operations and vehicle emissions.
To obtain a silver qualification VolkerHighways had to show how they are actively committed to drastically improving safety, environmental impact and efficiency through a range of initiatives.
Phil Thomas, head of HSEQS for VolkerHighways said: “This is a significant achievement and is of huge benefit to the business. This award will help us educate and protect our team and help to improve the safety of all road users on the UK road network.”
FORS is a nationally recognised voluntary scheme and open to any company operating a fleet including vans, lorries, mini-buses and coaches. The process of accreditation and continuous improvements gives the peace of mind that the accredited organisation takes safety and compliance seriously.
