Triple triumph for VBA

Recent

VBA has recently won two awards for Ipswich Tidal Barrier and a third for Starcross and Cockwood Tidal defence scheme.

VBA awards

Ipswich Tidal Barrier was announced as the Civils Project of the Year at the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards 2019. These awards focus attention on some of the most important issues for the built environment sector.

This news follows an announcement early last week that Ipswich Tidal Barrier was also awarded an Exceptional Merit at the ICE East of England Merit Awards in the Technical Excellence and Innovation category, for its originality, innovation and stability of purpose. ICE East of England presents its Merit Awards every year to celebrate and recognise outstanding civil engineering.

VBA won a third award for the Starcross and Cockwood tidal defence scheme, one of the priority schemes recommended in the Exe Estuary Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy. The scheme was awarded the collaboration award in the 2019 ICE South West Regional Awards.
