VolkerHighways has once again been recognised by RoSPA for its continued commitment to safety and wellbeing, through an eleventh Gold Award, and a second President’s Award.
The prestigious Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) industry awards scheme is the longest running in the UK, offering organisations the opportunity to benchmark their safety performance year-on-year.
The President’s Award is presented to those organisations who have achieved ten to 14 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards. The awards recognise achievements in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Christopher Jarry, health and safety manager for VolkerHighways, said: “To receive our second President’s Award, during 2020, a year like no other, is an outstanding achievement. The award is testament to our employees, who go above and beyond every day to ensure we maintain the highest level of safety across our sites.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they may be, to go to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day.The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere.”
