Following demolition of the previous early-nineties office building last year, the team has now constructed a new nine storey concrete structure.

The new building will provide 57,000ft2 (NIA) of office space, a café, cycle storage, refuse stores, shower facilities and a single basement level.

Having finished construction of the concrete frame on 4 July, the project team celebrated with a topping out ceremony, attended by Stuart Deverill, managing director of VolkerFitzpatrick’s Building division, as well as representatives from Deepdale Holding Investments Ltd, architects Squire & Partners, project managers Rougemont, cost consultant Currie and Brown, engineers Davies Maguire and services consultant Atelier Ten.

After a few words of congratulations, key stakeholders and members of the team made their mark on the project, by signing one of the rooftop walls.

Rakesh Chavda, project manager for VolkerFitzpatrick, said: “It is wonderful to be celebrating this impressive development reaching its highest point. This is a great project to be involved with and I would like to thank the whole team for all their hard work in getting us to this point.”

Mark Goldbart, Partner for Newmark said: “The team here at Rolling Stock Yard are doing fantastic work and I’m very pleased with the high quality of delivery to date. It is great to watch the project plans becoming a reality and I very much look forward to seeing the development progress over the coming months.”
