VolkerFitzpatrick has been chosen to deliver the fit out for a 196,000ft2 warehouse in Northamptonshire by industrial and logistics property company, Prologis UK.

Prologis additional fit out

Having completed the £8.36 million base build in March 2019, VolkerFitzpatrick has subsequently won the contract to fit out the facility for an additional £2.1 million. While the works officially started on 8 June 2020, the team had already begun helping the client with the internal finishes before this date.

The fit out will include sprinklers, trace heating and lighting for the warehouse area. There will also be a canteen area and toilets, plus a first aid and locker room. Additionally, carpeting will be installed throughout the hub offices.

The fit out is expected to finish at the end of September 2020.

Stuart Deverill, managing director of VolkerFitzpatrick’s Building division, said: “We have a longstanding successful relationship with Prologis and were delighted to be able to respond quickly to their request to mobilise to secure the programme for this fast track fit out. As the constructors of the base building, we have been able to offer considerable added value.”

Alan Sarjant, senior vice president of Prologis UK, said: “The leasing of this building to James and James is really positive news in the current climate, and underpins the importance of Northampton as a central and crucial hub for UK logistics. Alongside managing the property, we’ll be helping James and James with the fit out of the main building and its employee welfare facilities, and we are delighted to be working with our longstanding and trusted supplier VolkerFitzpatrick to get the customer up and running quickly.”
