Members of the VolkerHighways team visited children at The Academy of Woodlands, to talk about the environment and help them plant some new trees.
Children from the Academy’s ‘Otters’ class had great fun learning about the importance of trees and the role they play in our environment. They were then kitted out with shovels and PPE clothing, so they could help plant two new trees, donated by VolkerHighways.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and invited the team back a week later, to present them with ‘thank you’ letters, drawings and a class collage.
Mr N Fiddaman, Headteacher of The Academy of Woodlands said: “Thank you for the way you have worked with the children and engaged with them during the project. We really appreciate the time and effort you have provided, to give our children a lovely experience.”
