An update on the VolkerLaser 14,000 mile challenge

Recent

At the start of August, colleagues from across VolkerLaser began their 14,000 mile journey, raising money for two chosen charities.

To date, the team of 56, has walked, run, cycled, and swam, just over 8,000 miles in various locations across the UK, taking on the world’s longest continuous walkable route in a way we’ve all become accustomed to over the last year – remotely.

The team are continuing through until the end of September, with another 5,912 miles to go.

The challenge was initiated by two of the business’ working groups – PALS and the mental health forum. They wanted to create a challenge which would get colleagues out and about, and moving each day, as well as working as a team - all whilst raising money for two fantastic charities.

All monies raised will be split between The Lighthouse Club and the Construction Youth Trust.

The Lighthouse Club is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.

Construction Youth Trust is a charity whose aim is to inspire and enable young people to overcome barriers and discover a career in the construction and built environment sector.

With the team over halfway through, they are now asking for donations via the JustGiving page in order to make all this effort worthwhile. If you would like to support the VolkerLaser team, please feel free to donate here.

Also, why not take a look at some of the things the team have been getting up to:
