VolkerFitzpatrick and VolkerHighways have both been honoured with a RoSPA Gold Medal Award for their excellence in occupational health and safety and commitment to continuous improvement. The Gold Medals are awarded to organisations which achieve between five and nine consecutive Gold Awards. This year marked the fifth consecutive award for VolkerHighways and an impressive seventh, for VolkerFitzpatrick.

There were also wins for VolkerRail, who achieved two awards, a Gold Award for occupational health and safety and the RoSPA MORR Gold Award for the management of occupational road risk. This year was the fourth consecutive Gold Award for VolkerRail.

VolkerLaser and VolkerStevin also achieved Gold Awards in occupational health and safety in 2015.

RoSPA is the UK's family safety charity. Their mission is to save lives and reduce injuries covering all ages and stages of life.

The RoSPA Awards are open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes across the UK and overseas and have been held annually for nearly 60 years. Most awards are non-competitive and can be achieved at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations that maintain high standards in consecutive years can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

Competitive awards are also presented in more than 20 industry sectors and also recognise excellence in specialist areas, such as the management of occupational road risk (MORR).
