James has worked within the railway industry for 6 years, commencing his career as a Platelayer for VolkerRail on the West Anglia Route Modernisation Project and Southern Track Renewals. His ability and commitment to the organisation and his team saw him progress to a Foreman and earlier this year in March he was promoted to the position of Supervisor.
James has been described by his colleagues as a great leader and team player who will always go the extra mile to achieve business objectives and to assist his colleagues. Winning this award provides James with the recognition and admiration he deserves from his colleagues, managers and peers within the railway industry, where he is an inspiration to others.
James along with nine other colleagues attended the event hosted by Pete Waterman, pop impresario and railway entrepreneur and were entertained by comedian Milton Jones and music from Fully Funktional.
James will choose a prize from an incredible selection including a week for two in the Caribbean, a week on Rodeo Drive in Beverley Hills, a family holiday in Disneyland California, a week in Bangkok or a Sony Technology Package.
We are also proud of the other VolkerRail nominations that were put forward. These included:
