Recent

VolkerInfra is once again working with Siemens Energy in a turnkey contract to design, supply, install and test extra high voltage (EHV) cables for Loch Buidhe substation.

The new SHETL (SSE subsidiary Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Limited) Loch Buidhe Substation is currently being built near Bonar Bridge in Scotland.

Peter Cooke, technical development director for VolkerInfra, said: “Following on from our success on the Dudgeon off-shore wind farm, we are delighted to have been chosen again as Siemens’ partner to carry out these critical works.

“As a specialist in this field we are looking forward to installing the EHV cable systems and providing Siemens Energy with a premium service.”

VolkerInfra will be responsible for the in-house design, procurement, installation, jointing and testing for a total of four 132kV circuits and one 275kV circuit. The 132kV circuit contains 6,500m cable and 24 cable terminations and the 275kV circuit will see the installation of 600m cable and six cable terminations.

Design works are currently taking place and site works are due to start in May 2016 with a finish date of November 2016.
