VolkerGround Engineering awarded RISQS accreditation

RISQS is the single entry point for suppliers to the rail industry and buyers use the accreditation to qualify products and services.

Chris Thomas, director for VGE, said: “Previously we had the accreditation under the wider company VolkerStevin but this is the first time we have been awarded it as VGE so we are really pleased.

“It is testament to the quality of work we are doing and collaboration with the rail industry. It is also an important step in our business because we can now expand our work into the rail related geotechnical market.”

Registration on the RISQS system helps suppliers sell to the British rail industry by providing an open, fair and transparent way for them to be formally recognised as capable providers of products and services.

In December 2014,  the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) signed an agreement with Achilles Information, securing provision of audit services and access to the related IT platform for RISQS through to April 2017.
