VolkerFitzpatrick move into new sustainable headquarters building

Recent

VolkerFitzpatrick have now completed their move into a new headquarters building, funded and built by themselves.

The new office is a state-of-the-art building, and has been designed and built to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating - the highest level an office building can get for sustainability. Environmentally friendly features include ground source heating, photovoltaic cells, ground air ventilation, rainwater harvesting, solar shading and intelligent power systems.

The carbon footprint has been measured to be some 70% more efficient than the old office and therefore represents a major commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

Managing Director, Jim Elders said: "We wanted to make a statement about our commitment to sustainability. During the design, development and construction process we have greatly increased our knowledge and understanding of the sustainable options and have finished with a terrific new building with which everyone is delighted.

Our construction and facilities management teams have done a super job in delivering the building and moving us all in without any disruption to our business - a great achievement!"
