The news emerged as Contract Journal announced shortlisted companies in its annual ‘Best Places to Work in Construction' competition. VolkerFitzpatrick are one of six companies to be shortlisted to win the section for companies with more than 500 employees.

VolkerFitzpatrick have won the competition for the previous two years.

VolkerFitzpatrick Chief Executive Alan Robertson said "Having won the competition for the last two years, it is gratifying that, once again, we have been shortlisted for the award. I believe that VolkerFitzpatrick is a wonderful place to work, and I am delighted that my colleagues seem to agree with me".

The winner of the competition will be announced at a dinner at Lords' Cricket Ground on June 17th.
