"VolkerWessels UK are an excellent organisation to work for. Since I transferred over to them in 2002 I have been given training opportunities to allow me to develop a career that I both enjoy and am proud of.
"I stumbled into highways maintenance by accident. Being 44 years old now and beginning along this path only 11 years ago, I felt like the oldest trainee in the land. I don't imagine that many organisations would have given me the opportunities that VolkerHighways did. I am very grateful for being given such a great opportunity to progress."
Helena graduated from Edinburgh University in 2009 with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Construction Management. She joined VolkerFitzpatrick in 2010 and has since worked on the East Kent Access project where she is responsible for ‘setting out', planning and managing works. Helena is also on the VolkerFitzpatrick graduate programme and studying towards becoming a chartered engineer.
"I decided to join VolkerFitzpatrick because of the wide range of expertise and interesting projects. They value their staff and have a great graduate training scheme. I can say that every day is different and time certainly doesn't drag!"
